A Thank You on Social Media Can Go a Long Way in Business

In our opinion, the basis for a successful social media campaign comes in the form of an engaged and thriving community.

You can put in as much money as you want to grow your followers or push as many people as you can to your website, but if your audience isn't engaged with your content on a regular basis and, in turn, not buying your products or services, then you are going to be dead in the water.

So, how do you get to the point where your audience is, at the very least, engaged with your content?

The good news it can be as simple as starting off by saying ‘thank you’.

Crazy! We know!

But, we seriously believe that saying thank you is a powerful yet often underused word on social media when it comes to brands interacting with their audience.

As a business, we have empathy for business owners who want their audience buying from them via social media. However, what are they doing to begin that relationship?

Call it a tactic, call it a strategy, call it what you want…but when someone follows your page on Instagram or makes a comment for the first time on your Facebook or Twitter profile, the least you can do is acknowledge that response and say ‘thank you’.

You might even take it a step further and start asking questions of the person in relation to their comment which then gives you data to use in the future in a number of ways.

This is, in our belief, the first step in building a long-term relationship with your audience and a relationship that will result in you achieving what you ultimately want as a business (a sale) and gaining a customer who not only trusts and is loyal to your brand but will be an advocate for you as well.

Once you have initially engaged with them, it doesn’t stop there. Like anything in business, consistency is key and the same applies to how you interact with your audience.

This will begin building an audience that knows you, likes you and, most of all, trusts you.
